Brandon Kroos is a multi-faceted data and analysis expert from Lincoln, NE. Possessing degrees in both Economics and Journalism, as well as a certificate of completion for an intensive 24-week data science bootcamp, he has the knowledge and background to know what questions to ask, how to find the answers, and how to present it in a way that’s easily understood for those not working with data every day.
In his time with the City of Austin Equity Office, he developed the entirety of the Smartsheet project management platform, including both internal and external dashboards providing departmental assessment materials and equity progress updates. Additionally in this role, he led the administration and evaluation of the City of Austin Equity Assessment Tool, supporting departments through every step of the process, as well as performing process evaluations aimed at addressing any pain points within the Tool and process. Finally, he led the development and administration of the first-ever grant programs within the City of Austin, and led the equity consultations of the internal-facing functions of the City government, such as Human Resources, Communication and Technology Management, and Financial Services. In these roles, he developed an ability to quickly digest complex bureaucratic processes, identify potential equity barriers, and problem solve for those barriers in order to better serve internal and external stakeholders.
